Remorial Arnhem is a series of 12 commemorative sites in Arnhem, each signaled by a granite plaque. These plaques aim at reclaiming other memories than the ubiquitous Battle of Arnhem (1944), and recall people or events that have taken place on site. Combining history and anecdotes, local and global, hard facts and speculations, these plaques tell us hidden narratives about familiar or less familiar places in Arnhem. For the visitor, seeing the twelve locations will reveal a whole new Arnhem, away from school books, tourist guides and history as we know it.
